Denise Worth
Board Vice President
Denise Worth, a retired psychology professor and mother of a son with autism, has a long-standing dedication to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. She values CVI’s focus on life challenges, which were central in her son’s life. Denise has served on the board for many years, inspired by CVI’s professionalism and resilience. Her goal is to strengthen support for clients and families through greater engagement with CVI’s programs.
Margaret Hawe
Secretary
Margaret Hawe is a retired special education teacher and mother of Emily, a CVI client. She joined the board out of gratitude for CVI’s positive impact on Emily’s life. Margaret enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and reading. She appreciates the dedication of CVI’s staff, who help make Emily happy at home and in the day program.
John Touchette
Treasurer
Before joining the board, John Touchette was CVI’s Director of Administration. Now, as Treasurer, he works to ensure high-quality services and support for clients and caregivers. John is also active in the Rotary Club of Chico Sunrise, supporting youth programs in Butte. As a father of children with autism, he brings personal commitment to CVI’s mission.
Monica Crowl
Board Member
Monica Crowl, inspired by her own family’s experience with autism, joined the CVI board to help expand programs and support clients. Her background in corporate administration and small business ownership adds value to CVI’s mission. She is dedicated to helping CVI meet individual needs and giving back to the organization that has helped her family.
Joan Goodreau
Board Member
Joan Goodreau, a retired Special Education teacher and Program Specialist, brings valuable insight to the board. She has authored books on autism and advocates for greater understanding through her writing. Her son, Ian, thrives in a CVI-supported home and day program, deepening her commitment to CVI’s work.
Cindi Sterling
Board Member
Cindi Sterling, mother of four, including Renee, a COVE Day Program participant, has lived in Paradise for 33 years. She joined CVI’s board in 2008, inspired by her experience with an uncle who had mental disabilities. Cindi values CVI’s commitment to quality of life, social connections, and well-being. She is honored to support the board and appreciates CVI staff’s dedication to helping clients grow and thrive.
Teri Tapia
Board Member
As the mother of a young adult with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Teri Tapia is dedicated to advocating for supported living services. She understands the importance of accessible, affordable housing for individuals with disabilities. Since joining the board in 2018, Teri has served as CVI’s liaison with New Beginnings Housing Foundation, helping CVI best meet client needs.
